Our Story: Crafting a Local Legacy
What started as a shared dream in a sun-drenched London kitchen has grown into a sanctuary for coffee purists and slow-living enthusiasts in the heart of Leicestershire.
Sophie Miller & The Slow Food Philosophy
Founder Sophie Miller spent a decade in London’s specialty coffee scene, honing her craft alongside the pioneers at Monmouth Coffee. When she returned to Leicestershire, her mission was clear: to bring those uncompromising London standards home, without losing the warmth of local community.
Sophie believes in the "Slow Food" movement—an intentional approach where every ingredient is respected. This philosophy permeates everything we do, from the 48-hour fermentation of our sourdough to the seasonally adjusted roast profiles of our beans.

Millers Yard
Industrial Restoration
The Rebirth of Millers Yard
Millers Yard wasn’t always this bright. Once a derelict Victorian ironmongery, it took Sophie and a team of local craftsmen eighteen months to breathe life back into these bricks. We preserved the raw charcoal ironwork and exposed structural textures, creating a space that honors its industrial past while welcoming a creative future.
